Good morning, junior crew. With the heavy news of last night carrying into Saturday morning, things are incredibly quiet around the CSS Eudora. You may carry on with your personal business during the morning, but come 11:00, a soothing voice will cut into the air and announce that at 12:00 everyone must report to "the Conference Hall." Strange, however, that it's not on the map.
Never fear, your I.R.I.S. will automatically project a small beam of warm, orange light on the ground, directing you towards an enormous lift stationed by the mess hall. Come 11:50, if you aren't on the lift, you will certianly find yourself moving there physically whether you intend it or not. The lift is capable of carrying every occupant of the Eudora to a sublevel ramp that leads towards the mentioned Conference Hall.
The enormous hall opens up past two large, double doors with the word EUDORA printed over it. Within, a lengthy monitor sprawls across the entirety of it, displaying Thursday night's victims profiles along with a large map of the Eudora herself. With plush, dark seats in rows and a long table at the head of the room where four members of your senior crew await, it is clear what exactly this space is for, especially as the words TRIAL IN SESSION appear on the monitor and an ominous-looking countdown:

Welcome to your fourth trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about Margaret and Sora's murders. Characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.
There will be a mod-tag break between 4 PM EST / 1 PM PST to 5 PM EST / 2 PM PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
Finally, we have a voting page for characters to vote on the culprit! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST, unless you've spoken with the mods previously, as we'll begin tallying votes on the dot. Voting is mandatory for Spacecoast, acting as our weekly activity check in this game.
Good luck!

Do either of you know the password to this computer? Otherwise, I'll send a message to everyone else asking them.
[in the meantime, if he touches the brighter marks carefully, do they feel any different? he's also going to see if the darker marks near the busted computer are more caused by soot or ash, or if they're ingrained into the table itself like it got burned in the computer explosion.
also, is the busted computer damaged in any notable way other than being exploded?]
no subject
she doesn't take a picture because they have one already, but she'll take the book with her. does she see anything else out of place around here? tables, bookshelves where this book might have come from... does the lighter shades/dark thing seem to be leading anywhere or is it just kind of like something was here and dripped on the carpet?]
... No, I'm not sure.
no subject
Metis shakes their head at that. ] I am not aware of any password. Given normally these are not password restricted, which means someone may have tampered with it.
[ Arthur will feel a bit.. warm to the touch? The texture is a bit rougher compared to the rest of the desk. And the darker marks are in fact more ingrained like a burn, yes and given how close it is the exploded computer it would be a fair assumption to make. It does not seem to be damaged in any notable way other than that. Just kaboom.
No burn for her, it's more that it's just a dark silhouette since it matches the same color as the carpet itself, minus the area around it being lighter and some of those lighter patches nearby. If that makes sense. Touching the shape has no difference in temperature, but touching the outline where the lighter section begins it may be a bit warm. Otherwise it looks like it's just centered around in only this area but looking around she will see what Nodd has found: a few small platters of red and a puddle nearby. And looking in the direction of nearby shelves, she can see a thin line of red is leading away from the puddle towards the bookshelf. ]

[ if he had to memorize one, he'd write it on a small piece of paper and then tape it beneath his desk where no one would ever look.
looking up, is there anything that could have been connected to the maybe water upon the ceiling? another type of sprankler?
he veers off to check out the larger puddle and red splatters. all of this blood, yeah? anything around this area? ]
no subject
You are aware we are in the same room? Also. No.
[anyways, he's going to look a little closer at the computer to see if he can tell whether they only have a set amount of guesses before being locked out completely, thank you shoma. if he can't tell just by looking, he'll ask metis the same question. he's also going to see if there's an option to change the password. everyone is so smart.
he's also going to do a quick glance over the entirety of the desk to make sure there's no misc items left here, or other notable marks besides the brightness or the burn marks. he's going to check under the desk too because i'm paranoid, thanks.]
no subject
she'll go check the bookshelf in a second after she tries to see what is making this happen]

While Arthur answers Nodd, Metis is mumbling to themselves though a bit taken back and concerned, "I.. suppose it is ten characters long..." Uncertain. But it's hard to see if there's a set, and at the question they look to their I.R.I.S momentarily. ] Doesn't seem to have a limit for guesses. So you should be free to input what you may think can work.
[ Which they will swipe at their screen and it will show up on the computer now. There's a keyboard there in front of the computer so happy guessing, Arthur. The thorough searching around the desk for items and other marks come up empty though. You're good there.
And.. help, no not a shadow. It's just... a spot made by the area around it being lighter in shade. Nothing burned into it, nothing above leaving a shadow, just the area around it being lighter which left behind this shape. ]

[ said as he scramble from all fours onto his feet.
even with throné now having a great chance of seeing him, he'll lick this new red liquid to verify its bloodness. after that, he will leave her to continue following the trail if she will, while he veers off to check out this seat arrangement. ]
no subject
[i hope it is and he's wrong. anyways, i remain paranoid so he's going to glance up at the ceiling to see if there's anything, like, projecting light down onto the computer desk from above.
also he's going to stare very hard at the keyboard to see if any of the keys look particularly used or if there's any kind of marks or material on them.]
no subject
anyway she'll go check the bookshelf. closely.
she does not care to stop nodd from licking liquid you do you.]
no subject
Arthur in which this case Eli is paranoid and looks up, but nope nothing stands out. Just the same general dome-like ceiling that the library is known to having. And looking back at the keyboard... does not give any clues, it doesn't look particularly used or kind of marks. It's just a regular nice keyboard.
I'm crying. Okay Flurry, we're gonna stare at this carpet and enter this carpet mind palace together. Continues to spiral in this alongside you. But alright, imagine the color of this carpet as is, but this spot is lighter color. In this lighter color patch, there is a shape that is the same color as the non-light carpet. Said shape is this and not sunglass shaped.
Now onto that bookshelf, the thin line of red actually leads towards the bottom of it before it disappears under. ]
no subject
what are they? is there anything on the table there he should be sampling or taking? ]
no subject
no subject
... is there a missing book from that bookshelf. can she put the book she picked up back in there if there is? otherwise she's going to use her strength score of eight to try and move the bookshelf aside. SECRET TUNNELLLL.]
no subject
No particular shape, it's all the same size and depth. It's just general (mumbles) and not too important to note.
AND I KNOW, HOLDS YOUR PAW. No it does not look like that. This spot is a lot smaller than sunglasses. Small shape. But no, no missing book from this bookshelf, where it was taken from is probably not that important. She moves the bookshelf... and god is it difficult, but moving it enough shows there's something bottle-shaped behind it on the floor. No secret tunnel, but secret treasure perhaps? ]
no subject
nodd is about about to return to the group but wait, there was the Delicious Blood trail leading out of the library. he doesn't mean to wander too far, but can he at least go check and figure out a general idea of where that trail was leading? ]
no subject
if not, he'll go join throné and probably frown at her for trying to move this bookshelf on her own.]
no subject
she picks up the bottle and looks at it... what is it... if she cannot tell she will turn to the other two.]
Any luck with the password?
no subject
Arthur sees nothing else amiss that hasn't been caught or mentioned already so he may go join her sure, Metis will just. Stay here with this locked computer as it continues to ask for a password.
Throné now has acquired a bottle! What kind? Better left for back at trial, but it looks like a water bottle of sorts -- I almost typed bobble my fingers were super on the wrong keys. Anyways, she returns and Metis looks up, a red blip of a buffering sign showing on their helmet before they shake their head. ] ... Well, Nodd has his own suggestion but Arthur has decided against trying it.
[ Mumbles quietly dommymommy. ]
no subject
yeah, now he'll come back to the group, in time to hear metis muttering.
after sharing what he's seen (omitting exactly how he deduced the red stuff was definitely blood), he adds: ]
If we get extra tries, we should do mine.
no subject
You may try whatever you like, Mr. Nodd.
[frowning at throné but in a concerned way at her apparently being in pain]
Are you alright? You could have called for me...
no subject
and goes :ben: at the suggestion of dommymommy but. it's fine.]
... Go ahead, Nodd. I can't think of anything else.
no subject
But Nodd can regroup with this knowledge, and Metis nods at the mention of "extra tries" though a bit distracted as they seem to be watching Throné with a concerned air. But Arthur is checking on her so they stay quiet and look back to Nodd with a gesture for the keyboard in front of the computer.
Tell me what you're inputting and we shall see. Metis focuses on the same screen on their I.R.I.S in the meantime. ]
