Good morning, junior crew. With the heavy news of last night carrying into Saturday morning, things are incredibly quiet around the CSS Eudora. You may carry on with your personal business during the morning, but come 11:00, a soothing voice will cut into the air and announce that at 12:00 everyone must report to "the Conference Hall." Strange, however, that it's not on the map.
Never fear, your I.R.I.S. will automatically project a small beam of warm, orange light on the ground, directing you towards an enormous lift stationed by the mess hall. Come 11:50, if you aren't on the lift, you will certianly find yourself moving there physically whether you intend it or not. The lift is capable of carrying every occupant of the Eudora to a sublevel ramp that leads towards the mentioned Conference Hall.
The enormous hall opens up past two large, double doors with the word EUDORA printed over it. Within, a lengthy monitor sprawls across the entirety of it, displaying Thursday night's victims profiles along with a large map of the Eudora herself. With plush, dark seats in rows and a long table at the head of the room where four members of your senior crew await, it is clear what exactly this space is for, especially as the words TRIAL IN SESSION appear on the monitor and an ominous-looking countdown:

Welcome to your third trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about Sidon's and Ashe's murders. Characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.
There will be a mod-tag break between 4 PM EST / 1 PM PST to 5 PM EST / 2 PM PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
Finally, we have a voting page for characters to vote on the culprit! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST, unless you've spoken with the mods previously, as we'll begin tallying votes on the dot. Voting is mandatory for Spacecoast, acting as our weekly activity check in this game.
Good luck!

Anyway, nothing is visible even if he lifts the toilet bowl of the Sidon-sized toilet and looks a bit closer? If not, he figures there could be something stuck inside, but sticking his hand inside of the toilet doesn't exactly guarantee he'll be able to get it.
They might need to call for help to see if there's something that can be used to retrieve it. Another question, though, is if these toilets have like one of those tanks where you can lift off the top?? If so he will just also check there for good measure. ]
no subject
the shape of the damage itself is hard to discern - it doesn't look like a blade (hi blade) but rather there are multiple, smaller impact points circular in shape, scattered on this concentrated portion of the wall. there are some scratches in this area as well. and what size is owner's hand? small, medium, or large?
even if blade lifts the toilet bowl and looks in closer, it's still hard to discern why this water level is higher than the others. there are no toilet tanks on any of the toilets, they're all one piece because i refuse to think about toilets ♥ i love you! so they cannot be checked there.
blade can call for assistance, however, if he needs something, though. io is sending something out on their i.r.i.s., but is listening out for you two. ]

Either way, Blade refuses to leave this alone. Stubborn streaks are real. ]
IO, we require your presence.
[ Blade is not the type of person who asks for help in anything, but he manages (though the volume certainly elevated because he is very much capable of raising his voice.) ]
no subject
io will make a brief appearance to see why they are required in here. what did you do (jk) they're careful of where they step just in case but will head over and see what is going on here. which is elevated toilet water. they still have their i.r.i.s window up but will look as well and... ]
Really...?
[ tiredy, they'll disappear for a minute and then return... with what looks like a plunger that is suitably sized to handle the sidon-sized toilet. ]
This should help. Might need a bit of suction? [ they demonstrate briefly on the tile floor. witness how to use one to make this... better. ] Just put it in there and get a good grip and tug.
no subject
but both! just trying to get a good idea about sizing here, for the scratches and the more circular ones. ]
no subject
...Hmph. Figures that there is nothing else available for this.
[ Nothing is ever that simple except for watching the demonstration; it's easy to get the gist of it. Anyway, he'll take the plunger, and basically copy the same motions; the sooner he gets this over with, the better. ]
no subject
and okay! owner compares the marks to a splayed hand and then fist, i'll give it to you in this list.
- the scratches are hard to measure. they seem to be focused around where the smaller impact marks are within the larger circular marks.
- the size of the circular marks of impact are larger than owner's fist, but smaller than owner's splayed out hand.
- the size of the smaller impact areas within that circular area are smaller than owner's fist and smaller than owner's splayed out hand.
and yeah, io just folds their arms at that. you said it. ]
Better than by hand. But yeah.
[ they will walk back to their post. blade will plunge away at the sidon-sized toilet like such a fucked up lil mario and will hear something GUH-THNK as the water (which was clear and clean at least!) drains and something comes up and surfaces from the hole in the bowl with a loud metallic clatter. winner! ]
no subject
anyway. is the circular marks like a perfect circle or a wobbly circle then? and this is the only area of the wall with these marks? is there anything in the ground below it ]
Are you doing okay over there?
no subject
...Yes.
This is just some foolishness that needed to be dealt with.
[ Before he fishes out whatever that is, what exactly is Blade looking at here, so he can carefully grab it in the event it's potentially sharp or something? ]
no subject
it looks like... this is a ball with some spikes, if handled with care, you shouldn't have too much trouble taking it with you. you can roll me a d20 dex to get an ouchie if you want.
io does poke their head in after finishing up sending some messages. ]
All good?
[ (seems like it might be time to zip to that pitstop before going back to trial.) but you may ask a final round of questions for the bathroom if you like! ]
no subject
[ WELL IS THERE JUST LIKE. ANYTHING ELSE THAT WOULD BE OBVIOUS TO MISS otherwise owner is good to nyoom because sweats in time ]
no subject
No verbal response but judging how he leaves quickly he is Good ]
... THE GALLEY
i won't keep you much longer—
io will take them both with them, focused on their i.r.i.s. as they lead them down towards... the galley. immediately, both blade and owner can smell smoke.. ]
Not again.
[ opening the door for you two, the smoke will leak out slightly, smelling like... burning food. the visibility is still high here, at least, so let's go. ]
no subject
[ FUCKING HELP ME
well, okay. owner is going going to hurry towards wherever the burning smell is?? is it coming from the oven or some other appliance??? IS THERE LIKE A FUCKIN FIRE or is it just smoking
blade we should have brought a bucket of toilet water for this ]
no subject
...Simply one thing after another.
[ Well, Blade steps in as well to be another set of eyes as Owner hurries in, so...yeah. (Very sadly bucket of toilet-waterless-) ]
no subject
the kitchen itself looks like someone was cooking in here. there's a knife block sat right by a cutting board full of veggies, and a bowl full of delicious-looking pasta salad, and some ingredients set out to be used but left behind it seems? ]
no subject
sticks his hand in there to pull out whatever is burning ]
no subject
[ Okay then. He can't stop Owner from doing anything reckless, but he is nearby or something, heading on over to the place full of food. Anything else notable about this food and cutting board here besides they look like they're hanging around? ]
no subject
he puts his whole paw in there to pull out whatever's burning. it seems like it's a pan bearing the remnants of what could have been a delectible meal had it been pulled out in time. the pan is burning hot because this oven has apparently just BEEN ON THE WHOLE DAMN TIME. yikes. burns your hand i guess.............
meanwhile blade decides to let owner practice poor kitchen safety on his own. blade will check out the food and cutting board. while he's here, he'll notice that the knife block is actually... missing a knife! as blade is moving, he will hear something splash tackily under the sole of his shoe.
nothing of note about the food itself. it does seem like an awful lot of preparation to simply ditch. (a list for you of what is in here anyways that's out: milk, butter, sugar, salt, flour, eggs, chilled heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, an assortment of fruits, and powdered sugar are set aside, a mixing bowl of chopped vegetables is sitting just next to the stove where an empty pot sits, as if they would have been put inside... all this food...) ]
no subject
owner has a few seconds where he considers the flaw of the mortal form before pulling the pan all the way out and just setting it on the ground. that's okay. is there anything else in the oven? what was the meal...... is there anything about it other than burnt............... ]
no subject
[ Blade says from over here, because he doesn't know how Owner is with these type of things. A knife missing, though? Hm.
Assessing the amount of food happens, with him taking note of its volume, taking a quick picture, and then...so does the next.
Anyway, he also just looks down blankly to see what ungodly mess his foot managed to splash into. ]
no subject
blade takes a picture of the volume of the food (sorry i can read) but yes... a knife is missing from this knife block.
in any case, blade stepped in blood. and a not-too-small amount of it. it's not enough to be fatal, of course, but it is a substantial amount. like you didn't just cut your finger while chopping veggies. ]
no subject
but okay, while blade looks at knives and steps in blood, owner will walk around the area to see if there's anything else that might be chilling. anything on the walls? or up on the ceiling? ]
no subject
But, anyway, that is a lot of blood? Of course it is.
Is it just the one and only puddle of blood he happened to step into? Or is there more? Or other specks of blood on tables, counters in here? ]
