Good morning, junior crew. With the heavy news of last night carrying into Saturday morning, things are incredibly quiet around the CSS Eudora. You may carry on with your personal business during the morning, but come 11:00, a soothing voice will cut into the air and announce that at 12:00 everyone must report to "the Conference Hall." Strange, however, that it's not on the map.
Never fear, your I.R.I.S. will automatically project a small beam of warm, orange light on the ground, directing you towards a large gated lift that has risen from the floor by the mess hall. Come 11:50, if you aren't on the lift, you will certainly find yourself moving there physically whether you intend it or not. The lift is capable of carrying every occupant of the Eudora to a sublevel that leads towards the mentioned Conference Hall.
The enormous hall opens up past two large, double doors with the word EUDORA printed over it. Within, a lengthy monitor sprawls across the entirety of it, displaying Thursday night's victims profiles along with a large map of the Eudora herself. With plush, dark seats in rows and a long table at the head of the room where four members of your senior crew await, it is clear what exactly this space is for, especially as the words TRIAL IN SESSION appear on the monitor and an ominous-looking countdown:

Welcome to your first trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about Dahut's murder. Characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.
There will be a mod-tag break between 4 PM EST / 1 PM PST to 5 PM EST / 2 PM PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
Finally, we have a voting page for characters to vote on the culprit! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST, unless you've spoken with the mods previously, as we'll begin tallying votes on the dot. Voting is mandatory for Spacecoast, acting as our weekly activity check in this game.
Good luck!

As a person who is experienced in Axes, but also ostensibly Swords, Katanas, Oversized Nails & Hammers, and Weird Pitchfork Chainsaws (listen), could she get an approximation of which of these weapons could have feasibly been the cause of Dahut's injuries?
She also has her axe in-person right now, which is somewhat larger than a fire axe-ish; can we estimate smaller or larger blade, more curved or flatter blade, etc?
Or you know, it could just be a match and we can airlock me right now that's cool too. ]

Wow yikes though wtf. Do the serrations look like they would've happened with a... well, serrated blade, or more like hacking away with a straight edge repeatedly until it finally gets through kind of deal? ]

bruise check
she will compare the dent in frying pan against the bruise in dahut's shoulder. how does it look? ]

wound check vs bloody galley knife

no subject
unfortunately, due to the melting along the edges of the galley knife (its handle is also warped from heat), this check is inconclusive. it's also still bloody in sheba's hand if she's not using a glove or a cloth or something. ]
no subject
oh honestly i thought the gloves eunhyuk got for everyone for investigations applied to evidence checks too. are there enough for her to use them here
anyway she frowns a bit at the inconclusiveness of the check.]

weapons check
he'll see if there's are best matches amongst the weapons presented. he's seen injuries and used weapons A Lot so presumably he knows what to look for. ]
no subject
the "best matches" which are still not quite exact could be baiken's sword or the bladed-edge of dion's lance. they seem a little too big... for all the messiness/choppiness of the severed areas. ]

GALLEY SEVERED HAND CHECK
Anyway Rosamund is wondering if there was something condemning the killer on this here hand. She's gonna check fingernails, palm, back of hand, gaping wrist chop, if there's any bruises/cuts/nicks/scars/killer's name written in blood/regular blood/social security numbers/home addresses.
Por favor.]
no subject
nothing under the fingernails on on the palm or back of the hand. she looks at the wrist chop and it looks like the wrist bone has been fractured (it clearly has seen better days and took some effort) while the "meat" around it is cut though. ]
no subject
but wow okay. Does it look like it was broken first, then cut?]
