I.R.I.S. SYSTEMS ARE UPDATING TO ALLOW SHIP AND CONCOURSE-WIDE ACCESS AT THIS TIME IN PREPARATION FOR INVESTIGATION AND RESOLUTION OF THE EVENTS FROM THURSDAY EVENING AND FRIDAY MORNING.

Good morning, junior crew. With the heavy news of last night carrying into Saturday morning, things are incredibly quiet around the CSS Eudora. You may carry on with your personal business during the morning, but come 11:00, a soothing voice will cut into the air and announce that at 12:00 everyone must report to "the Conference Hall." Strange, however, that it's not on the map.

Never fear, your I.R.I.S. will automatically project a small beam of warm, orange light on the ground, directing you towards a large gated lift that has risen from the floor by the mess hall. Come 11:50, if you aren't on the lift, you will certainly find yourself moving there physically whether you intend it or not. The lift is capable of carrying every occupant of the Eudora to a sublevel that leads towards the mentioned Conference Hall.

The enormous hall opens up past two large, double doors with the word EUDORA printed over it. Within, a lengthy monitor sprawls across the entirety of it, displaying Thursday night's victims profiles along with a large map of the Eudora herself. With plush, dark seats in rows and a long table at the head of the room where four members of your senior crew await, it is clear what exactly this space is for, especially as the words TRIAL IN SESSION appear on the monitor and an ominous-looking countdown:

Welcome to your first trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about Dahut's murder. Characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.

There will be a mod-tag break between 4 PM EST / 1 PM PST to 5 PM EST / 2 PM PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

Finally, we have a voting page for characters to vote on the culprit! Please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST, unless you've spoken with the mods previously, as we'll begin tallying votes on the dot. Voting is mandatory for Spacecoast, acting as our weekly activity check in this game.

it likely wouldn't be long enough to effectively cut through someone's wrist without bending the blade since it's not razor sharp.

unfortunately for dahut, these places are also messy wounds. like the chest was gouged into and the wrist is rough, there's no finesse to the neck or the bottom half of his torso. ]

truly this is so upsetting the pants were bad but they weren't that bad. scien examines them again and starts to go over the neck. is there anything else noticeable? there's probably a lot of blood all over the body but is it possible to see where it pooled? is it toward the back like he was laying down when it happened or dripping down like he was standing when decapitated?]

[ your multi-tool is useful but probably not effective for murder......

there's a great deal of blood, due to the severity of his various injuries, but based on the way his clothes took on blood and any blood that's tacky on his skin it's more likely that he was lying down (back) when he was decapitated. ]

is there anything abnormal about the blood? scien will also flip him over like pancake to check if there's anything to be found on the back of this torso]

[ pancaking him is easy enough to do, considering he was already small and now there's less of him. we do want to make a note that while his shirt stuck to his chest it was already opened before scien started his examination, just in case.

nothing on his back, and there's nothing unusual about the blood besides the given of the quantity of it being a lot. everything followed the law of gravity to pool while he was on his back, and unless aki didn't tell us dahut had weird colored blood that appears to all be in order. ]

for his clothes, are there any rips or tears? he'll similarly open the purple hoodie to examine it. is there blood on the purple hoodie, and if there is, would it only align with where his hand was severed?]

clothing-wise, there's no extra damages like rips or tears to anything. the purple hoodie is soaked in blood but it would align more with being on the arm his hand was severed from/being tied on his arm when the blood pooled. ]

pockets on everything (does this hideous outfit have pockets) are empty, which is a shame because the cute purple hoodie just has so many dang pockets.

the organs are still inside, thank god. we're just missing the heart in a very large chest wound. the bottom half is lopped off at the waist. ]

also doublechecking on the bruise at the shoulder, is there any particular shape to it? is it closer to the front, top of the shoulder, or back?]

closer to the front in terms of location, and it's - roundish, but hard to discern an exact shape. ]

OH AH HELP ONE MORE THING scien will examine dahut's left hand fairly closely. are there any bruises, cuts, scrapes? anything under his fingernails? evidence he could've clawed out his own chest perhaps which is definitely not a thing that happens in virche]

no bruises, cuts, or scrapes. there's no... fleshy bits? that would indicate he clawed out his own chest, which thank god for that. but his hand and arm are still bloody due to the blood pooling. ]
