With a creaking groan on Saturday morning, the stasis bay door finally opens up, revealing a broad, clean hallway and a lit sign overhead that says WELCOME TO THE CSS EUDORA. Lining the walls, you'll find that there are square lockers to grab your non-sentient belongings that weren't inside of your cold sleep pod (your home item and two changes of clothes from your canon). Along with those, you will find that your belongings have been carefully set inside of a sleek, black courier bag, nestled in among a few welcome gifts waiting for you! Upon opening it up, you'll find the following items to use as you see fit:

🪐 A luxurious eyemask, to block out the haters (and any solar flares)
🪐 A handkerchief, with hand-stitched embroidery.
🪐 A mini radio that plays some old tunes from the 90s and back, it also works as a bluetooth speaker for I.R.I.S.
🪐 A moon lamp, to provide some comforting light
🪐 A simple, but useful, multi-tool, closed when you find it
🪐 A small, refillable medical kit, pre-packed for your potential bumps and bruises (1 minor heal)
🪐 A few packets of freeze-dried fruit, to chase away the immediate munchies
🪐 A mini craft cocktail kit, to drink away your troubles (made into a mocktail kit if you are below 21)

Take your time to familiarize yourself with your new surroundings and freshen up in the communal bathroom that's been made available. You will also find that your living quarters have been neatly arranged along a hallway, just waiting for you to find your name on the door—meet your roommate!

Why, you can even enjoy an informative slideshow presentation that plays in the mess hall on all of the screens! It might not be a very big one, but the world of the CSS Eudora is your oyster for a few hours. There's plenty of time between the auspicious announcement and 1500 hours for you to get to know your fellow junior crewmates.

Welcome to the second part of our introductory weekend, this time featuring some of your new home and a few special surprises. Have a look around your brand new home, and if you have any questions, we will field them in the server.

🚀 Your I.R.I.S. and you! Characters will find that their I.R.I.S. communications device is now up and fully functioning. There are quite a few features for you to explore, including crew member profiles. Why not have a look and see just what kind of information has been compiled about you? And who exactly you're working with. The I.R.I.S. itself also comes witih a handy dandy guide explaining all of its fun features.

🚀 Some things to look out for include two events that will occur today and tomorrow. The first event will begin on (2/24) - 12PM PST | 3PM EST, and the second event will follow on (2/25) - 12PM PST | 3PM EST, so stay tuned for a ping in the server. Even if you are busy today, please feel free to tag in at a later time.

SATURDAY

The mess in the stasis bay restroom remains cleaned up: there are some towels that have been sacrificed in this endeavor, folded to the side. Cans and bottles have been thrown into the trash as well.

SUNDAY

There is now a decent array of Actually Seasoned food in the mess hall available to anyone who might not be able to cook for themselves! Not only is it freshly made, but it's also pretty good! Awfully nice of somebody to do.
There is also now a fresh pot of coffee somewhere near the delightfully not-bland food. It smells like the Good Stuff. It tastes like the Good Stuff. It is, in fact, the Good Stuff. Freshly ground, freshly brewed and still piping hot. Don't burn your tongue!

anyway this is really just because i'm out in like 45 minutes, but if you wander past the zero gravity chamber you might spot shu just. stood on the ceiling. like you do. he's dressed in a whole different outfit now, and is staring pretty intently at his wrist.

after a moment he swipes horizontally and hovers his fingers over the keyboard that appears. then he waves them like a baton and something starts playing from the I.R.I.S. he swipes away pretty quickly, so enjoy all like three seconds of that song. he spends a few moments cycling through the various options, before folding his arms with a slightly pinched look on his face.


then he spots you in the doorway, and waves one hand lazily. hi. ]

[ there's a bunch of clattering noises from the item storage area, as if one such locker's contents have been unceremoniously dumped on the floor. further inspection reveals an armor-clad ichiban marveling at his new outfit. the rest of his belongings lay in a pile at his feet with nancy sitting on top, because someone here has to be responsible. ]

It's just like I always imagined what a hero should look like! Heh—"all right, everyone, let's mosey!"

Room 12

[Sora wasted no time beginning to settle in the room. The fact there's only one bed doesn't seem to make her blink an eye -- in her mind already claiming it as hers. She's generally agreeable, but...not really altruistic enough she'd offer this to her roommate right away. This is something that will have to be talked about with whoever is bound to be here.

There she is, having finished setting up the moon lamp, placing it on one of the shelves, almost as decoration. It's not turned on, and probably never will be turned on.

Once Harley enters, Sora is as cordial as usual, bowing her head a little.]

Sora sits to a side, idly playing Infinite Craft. It's quite intriguing, to be able to do this on something that's pretty much implanted on you. Technology is quite advanced! Perhaps that's why she seems to be in a good mood right now]

Enabling this on all of us may be invasive, but I cannot deny it's...entertaining, to some extent.

[ he’s at least changed back into his normal outfit, including his headphones, and he’s sitting at a table out of the way while watching the slideshow with a fairly incredulous expression. that does not seem to be stopping him from taking notes on I.R.I.S, occasionally scrolling back to make sure he’s writing everything correctly and shoving some dry cereal in his mouth with the other hand. roboji the robot is also here, parked at the side of the table and observing as well. but he does eventually mumble: ]

[ you can also find him up on the observation deck with roboji. he’s already grabbed the multi-tool from their welcome kit, and he seems to be doing a little bit of maintenance on the robot. he’s facing the window and seems to be concentrating on what he’s doing, but deck is big enough? don’t mind him. ]

[ for anyone i missed this weekend, you can find him basically anywhere at this point in his normal outfit including headphones on, and his robot following him. weeee. ]

temenos glances over at his company, and then looks back at the little ears headband, pulling out also a blue and white tunic with a white undershirt. ]

I suppose hobby is one word for it. [ help. ] Something about 'the spirit of a beastling makes you a better hunter', which proved to be patently untrue.

A) Showers

[IMMEDIATELY BEELINES TOWARDS CLEAN. Despite being a ye olde she figures out the basics of space plumbing rather shortly. You can hear ~*~Melodic Singing~*~ from one of the stalls as Rosamund cleanses herself of blood and assorted grime.]

[Later, changed into her usual ripped and bloodied gown (which makes the briars growing out of her body immediately obvious, RIP), Rosamund has both hands on the glass of the observation deck, staring into deep space.]

C) IRIS/Lounge

[In the lounge she has pulled up with a drink (virgin piña colada) and is studiously flipping through the profiles. It's alarming, but not half so bad as she was expecting. Though some of these skillsets...

You may catch her peering surreptitiously at you before returning to the screen. Very suspicious.]
