Good morning, junior crew. Though you met with success Thursday evening, Friday morning, there is still a strange and oppressive atmosphere that's weighing in upon you all. There's still the splashes of color you've left behind on Wednesday, marking surfaces with the rebellion you've enacted on the ship. No one has died this week - but many, still, have found themselves dying in past ones. You may carry on with your personal business during the morning, but come 12:00, a soothing voice will cut into the air and announce that at 1:00 attendance at the Conference Hall would be greatly appreciated for one more Saturday.
Never fear, your I.R.I.S. will automatically project a small beam of warm, orange light on the ground once more, directing you towards an enormous lift stationed by the mess hall. Come 11:50, if you aren't on the lift... there's no compulsion, but you'd like to see it through, wouldn't you? The lift is capable of carrying every occupant of the Eudora to a sublevel ramp that leads towards the mentioned Conference Hall.
The enormous hall opens up past two large, double doors with the word EUDORA printed over it. Within, a lengthy monitor sprawls across the entirety of it, displaying a large map of the Eudora herself. With plush, dark seats in rows and a long table at the head of the room where four members of your senior crew await, it is clear what exactly this space is for, especially as the words CONFERENCE IN SESSION appear on the monitor and a still ever ominous-looking countdown:
??:??:??
... oh, that's more ominous than usual.

DE̶ÇO͝MḾIƧ̸S͢IO̵ИED͞

Welcome to the very beginning of the end. This game, we're trying out something a little different and offering you a unique Saturday! Many efforts have been made by the living and the dead alike, and we are so proud and have enjoyed seeing the choices made so far.
Starting at 1 PM EST / 9 AM PST, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate, and theorize as normal - however, there just aren't any recently dead to mull over. Characters will have time to explore the ship, further discuss information, throw a wee party - whatever it is you guys wind up planning to do, you can absolutely do! We have provided some prompts to engage with, as well as the option to request Senior Crew to take you on investigations of the ship and concourse alike, in the event that there's anything that you would like to pursue during this time.
Finally, we have A Thing scheduled at 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST. "Trial" will likely begin wrap-up shortly after this Thing is posted.
Good luck!

[ FAIR ENOUGH... wait actually do our auction items have their abilities now or was the shock FROM the panel. also anise makes that comment and he's like ??? ]
Uh... you guys seeing something I'm not?
no subject
anyways. the condition is good, although the information scrolling on the "master" hub, so to speak, has a red screen that's topped with a security lockdown notification above everything else. said information and data is just confirming the status of the jump drive being in good condition, nothing currently needing maintenance or diagnostics.
sorry to anise and anise only that it does, in fact, feel fleshy despite the fact that if she were to touch this when not Perceiving it would be solid and firm. it... breathes, a little? twitches, too, but does not lash out considering the tendrils are a bit preoccupied clinging to the surface that they're protruding out of.
auction items are still nerfed! the shock was from the panel, jumping out to the bat. there's a blip on this pylon's screen, a security notice, but it scrolls by afterwards like nothing happened. ]
no subject
ooookay... so is that indicating that we're on a security lockdown right now even though it's not jump time...? that seems weird? is there any kind of history audit anywhere that he can look at... ]
Just flesh and mist again... the usual. Ugh.
no subject
[ pokes it a few more times and then stops. ]
I wonder how many times we've touched something like this without even realizing... ew.
no subject
—Warn a guy first before he starts poking at shit!
no subject
the security lockdown is specifically for the jump drive, rather than the ship. the log shows that this was triggered on thursday, earlier in the day rather than at curfew. what he sees is what's scrolling automatically, just a recent log of things. how's he wanting to try and look at the full audit with the protective glass in the way? he can try to use his I.R.I.S. with his expertise atm.
it's a mystery how many fleshy things you've touched without knowing, honestly. you probably don't want to think too hard about that.
shiro calls from the doorway, a little concerned by ichiban falling back but seeing that he seems? fine? ] You guys are getting close to three minutes, as a heads up.
no subject
[ p... probably?? and shouting out to shiro ]
COOL, THANKS.
[ yes! he will try that!!! thank you for guiding my stupid ass. c'mon i.r.i.s. do him a solid here, let him get in there ]
no subject
[ only way more gross... there's a quick look to shiro, then to todomatsu. ]
Find anything, Totty?
no subject
I... guess I'll be on backup, too, then. Unless you find something for me to try some brute force on.
no subject
this... is not that inaccurate of a comparison, actually, anise.
you could theoretically brute force on the pylon glass, although that runs the risk of either getting shocked or breaking something Important underneath if you manage to get through.
all of you start to feel like something is slowly, metaphysically pressing down on you, though. a light nausea teasing at the background as time continues onwards. the flesh tendrils also twitch a little, although nothing is reaching out (yet?) for any of you. the temperature is also... warmer, although not so much that it's uncomfortable so far. ]
no subject
[ downloads audit file!!! ]
Um... a little bit, maybe, but there are rules about how I have to convey my information, so I'm going to... wait to do that...
[ cool! not like the flesh wasn't already inducing a little nausea... okay. does it seem like there's useful information that could be obtained by breaking the glass and/or does he have reason to suspect that would be a very bad thing to do? ]
no subject
[ it looks like ichiban's on rescue duty, so she'll back up close to todomatsu... and stares at the twitching tendrils. why are they moving. ]
no subject
no subject
that would depend on what he thinks of seeing the list of homeworlds that aiba mentioned on thursday night as the audit downloads - the ones that are all on their profiles, an unending list of their homes and earth repeatedly listed. over and over and over for each iteration of it.
even ichiban will feel when the thrum in the room suddenly pulses like a living thing. just once. the fleshy bits in the walls, ceiling, and floor will also twitch, some of the tendrils reaching outwards. something in the room releases a pneumonic hiss as it releases or opens. ]
no subject
May or may not want to come back to smash this later, FYI. Don't want to risk it now— oh, whoa, ugh.
[ it feels soooo bad in here... covering his mouth, he IS going to go run over and check the fuel processor quick just to make sure it looks like it's using legit ship fuel and not like, the life force of orphans or something. ]
Um, can someone see what that sound was quick and let me know if you need me to look at it...?
no subject
[ yikes!? gripping her staff like she's ready to throw down with these tendrils. but she's going to try to go look where that hiss came from. can she see anything there? ]
no subject
no subject
unfortunately for anise, she can in fact see what it was. it's a panel that opened up, low to the ground, about as long as a traditional door is tall and as tall as one is wide. out of it come tendrils, half flesh and half machine, that shoot out towards her and totty since they're the ones in the room proper. there's only five of them, but, also. there are five of them.
hysterically ichiban actually manages to intercept a tendril that comes out as it makes its way past the other two. he can actually see this one, though, but it's the fact that he was preemptively swinging that has allowed him to just fucking whollop it immediately. ]
no subject
[ well i rolled a 19 on this? somehow??? so i guess he will skillfully dodge and try to grab onto anise's sleeve to pull her out of the way too!!!!
ALSO since he's still an engineering genius right now can he deduce what that door might have ordinarily been for that makes sense or is it just straight up The Tendril Door ]
no subject
[ anise is about to fight back, but she gets yanked away...
but just as some of those tendrils reach for them, a gigantic yellow paw strikes out and swings in a mighty uppercut! as tokunaga suddenly grows to several times its normal size and lashes out at them. ]
no subject
Both of you, run!
no subject
it oozes a thick, horrible smelling puss that is a slightly translucent red. it's very gross. ]
Todomatsu, Anise, this way! [ shiro is going to leave ichiban to beating the hell out of the tentacles for a moment as tokunaga squares up, darting in around him and ducking a tendril that tries to swipe at him to help retrieve them - the two of you didn't get to have a mild refresher of exiting the engineering room. you're not feeling too good.
hands out to yoink them away. ]
no subject
and these tentacles are so fucking nasty oh my god... covers his mouth again, THIS FLESH AND NAUSEA COMBO IS SO ROUGH ]
Y-yeah, okay...!
[ glancing back over his shoulder briefly then running out to shiro!!! ]
no subject
[ but the call to retreat doesn't go unheard, and she holds on to tokunaga and lets the giant doll carry her as they turn and make a run for the exit. ]
no subject
except i guess a 4 might hamper him a little but haha, who's counting? ]
