WEEK 7: FAREWELL!

GOLDEN END     47 CREW ACTIVE
The remnants of stellar alchemy, stirring into life.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE

Welcome to the CSS Eudora… your tour is over, and the rest of your journey is set to begin. As you awaken, you will notice that there is a lulling sense of peace aboard the ship, and the world around you is silent save for the soft humming of the generators and propulsion system, the air circulating in gentle puffs from the ventilation (cool, a refreshing change from the past seven weeks). As you rise, you will notice that the Eudora has changed around you.

And it has changed for the better.

The halls are well-lit and clean, the lights no longer flickering or are on the verge of dim. The Eudora has taken on a warm, welcoming glow like a candle’s flame illuminating the dark. Nothing will force you anywhere today - and the Eudora's warm voice will greet you by name today, ask you how are you are feeling today, with every cup of coffee or tea, with every need gently perceived. She's returned to her old self, her voice is brighter, warmer, and she revels in once more having a full crew.

A notification coming from your I.R.I.S. indicates that, in having cleaned up the ship, freeing her from infection, some locations have been replaced with a new ones, as if the Eudora herself had a feeling that you might be needing this. The tour is all completed, now, and this has become your central hub for the worlds available to you. The Eudora knows just as well as you do that it’s time to go home, after all, which is why there's an encouraging warmly-lit path on the ground, and a directional indicator on your I.R.I.S. to show you the way towards this new location.

The endgame world-hopping mechanism! At the very end, upon achieving Golden End, players will be called to one room on board the revived Eudora (after her baptism by fire via explosion), replacing the eerie Meat Locker and Machine on the concourse. This room is enormous with screens around the entirety in 360 degrees. Various views of worlds flicker in and out, some very familiar, and others not so much. The console in the center controls several teleportation pads that are inter-dimensional and reach far and wide thanks to the Eudora's rebirth. All one needs to do is program the desired location into the console and step into the corresponding transportation pad.

All character return times are currently paused at the moment of your characters' canon points, and can be rewound by 10 minutes max. They will remain paused at this time, even if you go worldhopping elsewhere first - you need only return to the Eudora to access it! If you would rather go to another world, you're permitted to do so. If you would rather go with a castmate to a different time point (since theirs will show as different from yours!), you can do this instead. (Whether you replace that version of yourself or there are now two of you is up to you and your PSL gods.)

As members of the Junior Crew of the Eudora, while your nanites have largely worn off, the Eudora will always remember you. You will find that your I.R.I.S. still functions, with but a flick of the wrist. No matter where you are, you can now cross-dimension, cross-galactic communicate with one another. And play your various games.

There's also an app labeled Lyft Off, which will allow you to be beamed up to the Eudora at any time from wherever you are in whichever galaxy you're activating it from at the time. Feel free to make the Eudora a central hub for constant travel, and utilize her resources as desired - the food, the clothes, the equipment and library for research... it's all available for you, for as long as you need it!

Hello, Junior Crew, and welcome to your hard-earned Golden End. Here are a few things to close you out:

🪐 Characters will be compensated greatly by Nut & Bolt Co. with the original stipend dictated on your "contracts." You will find that the exorbitent sum of the pay, including emotional damages and reparations has been transferred to an easy-to-carry card that will transform into your world's currency once you are home. You can utilize your I.R.I.S. to treat it as a bank of sorts and easily remove or just carry your cash on that card (so you can utilize it in other worlds!)

🪐 You may also find an app on your I.R.I.S. entitled Thank You. You get the distinct feeling that this is from your ghostly friends who'd been trapped in the Helly Belly all this time, the old crew of the Eudora bidding you farewell, and the spirits of those you freed in destroying the planet. Characters will know intrinsically that this will allow them to be granted one wish of their choosing, however they cannot trade this wish away and can only utilize it for themselves. This wish also cannot affect anyone else on board the Eudora, nor can it be catastrophically destructive. It must be used for personal means.

🪐 Characters are free to return to their original worlds, or they may go to another world of their choosing, or you can choose to stay aboard the Eudora, we won't stop you, and she's fully equipped to sustain herself for a long, long... long, long time.
🪐 You are free to keep your I.R.I.S. and all the apps that come with that in order to remain in contact with one another.
🪐 World-hopping is always an option here thanks to the new teleportation room, so if you're ever missing a friend, why not hop on over to say hello?
🪐 Audiences are open for one more day if you have anything else you'd like from your Senior Crew.
🪐 Your PC directory is located over here.
🪐 Your final CR chart is here.
🪐 We have a feedback post here, TL;CR post here and a friending/love meme here.

Thank you so much, everyone, for playing in our little game! We hope you all had fun, and we look forward to hanging out in the server with you until next time! See ya later, space cowboys.

BEAM ME UP
drymonster: (they're not buying it)

[ looking at that scene on the screen like uhhh i thought you said things weren't that bad at your canon point ]

Ah... I'm planning to soon, but I'm not in a huge hurry, so you can take your time to get your settings right!

[technically what she said was that the worst of it was over......]

Oh... umm, I'm still figuring some things out, though.
drymonster: (well that wasn't very good)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-04-22 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
[ ok maybe he chose a generous interpretation but still!! ]

Yeah, it... kind of looks that way...

Were you still in trouble back home when you came here?
uncoincidental: (029)

[personal profile] uncoincidental 2024-04-22 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
...not trouble, exactly. We had just finished a grueling fight. It's just the aftermath of it that we're left with now.

I'd hoped maybe I could rewind it back long enough to avoid the fight but... it took longer than the ten minutes I could turn it back to.
drymonster: (i thought "this guy hasn't got a chance")

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-04-22 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Ah...

[ well, that's not the worst scenario, at least... ]

I wish I could like, donate my ten minutes to you, but I'm guessing it doesn't work that way.
uncoincidental: (118)

[personal profile] uncoincidental 2024-04-22 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think it does, but it's a nice thought. Thank you, though, Todomatsu.

[...]

Will you be taking a vacation once you go back?
drymonster: (don't think edward would approve of that)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-04-22 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Iiiiii don't have a whole lot on my plate anyway, so getting plenty of rest shouldn't be a problem!

[ his whole life is like one boring-ass vacation and he's especially self-conscious about it right now when all these people are going back to these serious high-tension moments and he's just going back to an afternoon of watching TV and eating chips ]
uncoincidental: (084)

[personal profile] uncoincidental 2024-04-22 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
As long as your next... Um, season, doesn't get weird, right?

...let's be sure to stay in touch.
drymonster: (oh you know him?)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-04-22 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha... our contract hasn't been renewed yet, so I might be off the hook for a while.

But yeah, definitely! Text me and let me know you're okay when you're done with that whole situation!
uncoincidental: (016)

[personal profile] uncoincidental 2024-04-22 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I will, don't worry. [she smiles] Maybe I'll be able to come visit?
drymonster: (they'll carry anything)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-04-22 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
You're always welcome if you want to! I'm actually kind of curious to see how it'd work to bring someone from another world into ours... like if they'd go 2D and get written into a script or something.
uncoincidental: (018)

[personal profile] uncoincidental 2024-04-22 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee hee! That would be a fun experiment. Let's find out!
drymonster: (but i forgot what i did to fix it)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-04-23 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds good! Just give me a little advance notice so I can make sure everyone's presentable, haha...

[ actually runs to our last pc to dump a memshare on you for family context ]
uncoincidental: (009)

[personal profile] uncoincidental 2024-04-23 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Define "a little"...

[she is amused though. i have not watched the memshare yet and won't for a bit bc work but i am sure it will be funny.]
drymonster: (don't think edward would approve of that)

[personal profile] drymonster 2024-04-24 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
[ you were right ]

Mmmmmm, maybe a day or two!

[ so he can make sure they aren't all going to be hungover... ]
uncoincidental: (112)

[personal profile] uncoincidental 2024-04-24 11:08 am (UTC)(link)
[yeah that. that tracks.]

All right... a day or two's notice shouldn't be too difficult.
