WEEK 7: AFTERMATH
WEEK 7 AFTERMATH 47 (48?) CREW ACTIVE
[ the final leg of the battle is ferocious, with the host furiously sending literal worlds at you. while the cannons do their best to fight back, the eudora takes a hard hit multiple times, sending it careening backwards with the force, and you all with her inside of your individual cannon chambers. she's scorched on all sides, a part of the hull goes flying clean off, but she's still airborne and carrying you all aloft, swerving out of the way of worlds that shudder past.
however, thanks to the rallying call of the cavalry, you stand together for one final blast as the exhausted creature, full of rage and hate is suddenly pummeled on all sides by those who came to your rescue from your distress signal (strange and wizardly as it was.)
pink haze practically oozes off the host, almost like it's bleeding the stuff. more shots from the leftmost cannons hit it than the right, but it's suffered substantial damage, crippled as it is. but it keeps trying. it keeps opening up rifts, CEM waves pulsing off of it and buffering up against the ship to shake you around one last time. there isn't anything further that it can do, though -
one last shot from the righthand side of the ship strikes the tesseract, as the rift containing a pulsing, mutated heart blinks open.
and then it's just an explosion that causes the eudora's systems to red out, alarms blaring and every ship nearby sent back, back, screens shorting out and the view out of the windows painted like a supernova in white, purple, pink.
outside of the windows that have visibility despite the explosion, you can see that the twins (who are now transformed into two little pomeranians) are caught in the explosion, also sent back along with the ship, but they both curl around each other as if to protect one another despite fighting earlier. a small, agile shuttle (familiar to many as the shuttles that have come back from missions) darts in and one moment they are tumbling, but the next are scooped by the shuttle and brought to the waiting embrace of the eudora.
it takes a moment for systems to come back online and it really struggles, but the ship is functional. all of the items that aren't magnetized have created a mess and there's a large (planet-sized) dent pushing into the hull from the right side (though the hull is barely intact), but! the ship! is functional!
the eudora continues to fly and as you look where lotophagos once was, you see the haze wane and the colorless, lifeless planet turn into ash scattering into the stars. ]

It's going to wear off in a couple of hours, right? I don't mind... And I think Nai would feel better about it if we're both dogs, maybe.
[ It's hard to know with Knives. It might incense him that they're both dogs or he'll be mad that only he's a dog... Toxic tsunderes are difficult to understand. ]

Hmm. [Strong vibes of would rather Knives be made more miserable, actually. But she will keep that to herself.] All right. If you change your mind, you can always hunt me down. It'd be no chore at all.
Rest well, will you? I hope we can figure out what we'll do from here together. [She grins.] Welcome back to the Eudora, Callisto.
