It's quiet, this morning, barring the request sent out by the Eudora. Hard to not be, considering the proceedings of yesterday - the loss of two crew members that you had come to know over the past week. The truth, revealed. They're answers, but many surely think that they are unsatisfactory answers. For this reason, Scien has been sequestered off to the brig, both for his safety and the safety of the remaining passengers, but questions can be asked.
Until the morning comes.
It's quiet, this morning. The walls of the Eudora feel looming in the silence, but duty calls. Eunhyuk Lee and Sheba have been requested to investigate the brig. There's nothing to guide them to the stasis bay and brig area except their own feet; no compulsion, no guiding light, just a request from the synthetic AI voice of the ship herself. If others attempt to investigate in their stead, they'll find that they're given no access beyond the area that houses the crew's lockers, but these two individuals can make it through without trouble.
The emergency lights aren't on, but there's a different glow to the area.

at that, Eunhyuk is quiet like he's thinking. I should have brought matches.
then he moves to pick up scien, god they're the same fcking height. trying to figure out how to transport this man as sheba looks at the second notif...?]

[dahut being in the pod hadn't felt like. delivering scien to the pod doesn't feel right, either, but she hears his thought about matches and wishes she had some of her own - something to start a fire.
there's nothing for now.
Their remains can be retrieved from the pods and burned later, can't they...?
the other notif gets airdropped to her I.R.I.S., and as she heads back to eunhyuk and scien's corpse, she fiddles with it and pulls up the holographic screen - disabling the privacy setting so that eunhyuk can also see it - before moving to the other side of scien's body to help pick him up. the video can be projected between them while they carry him, it's fine.]

he looks at her briefly and nods, picking up scien with Sheba's help, this is a nothing tag so we can see the video recording and be traumatized for life,]

the screen flickers to life between them, and it's big enough that perhaps some of those closest to the barrier might even be able to catch bits and pieces of it. at the very least, they'll be able to hear it.

He’s in much of a similar state, clothes rumpled, hair once again falling out of its braid, and eyes so tired it’s obvious he hasn’t slept a wink. And yet, there is something in him that seems to sense the feeling of being watched, and so he moves to sit up—making direct eye contact with the camera. ]

The feed cuts back in.
The lights in the brig have dimmed. An odd red hue has washed over the cell. Scien’s grip has tightened, squeezing. His shoulders shake.
With what little breath he seems to be getting, he wheezes out a off-tune hum. His head lifts to face the camera again and his usually placid expression twists into something unnerving. ]

I’ve always been ready to mak░̛͘͝░̶͠░̵̡͜͜░̸̷̨͟e the first sacrifice.
[ The camera cuts out again.
The sounds of coughing. A struggle. Gurgling. A wretched life clinging to its place despite the known end goal. A different sound - the rustle of cloth, and then of something being gouged. A laugh, maniacal, bleeds into a shout of pain.
One last thought to share:
It’s not so bad to let emotion rule over my actions for once. Maybe they were onto something. ]

but she really had no way of knowing that dana was out there attempting to traumatize everyone else in the game.
sheba trembles, her gaze fixed onb the video, but her grip tightens on scien because she is not going to make this worse by dropping him out of shock. she may not be entirely steady, but... she can at least help get him to the pod. they can lay him to rest until his remains can be burned.

because that's how eunhyuk feels, fine in a way that he will always strive to be, no matter what, fine in a way that someone stronger than him would probably feel -- like scien, whose last thought lances through eunhyuk -- brief and piercing,
but he keeps his grip on the body too, carrying his half and the bundled up flannel shirt dangling from his fingers, all the way until they're in the stasis bay proper, where he can see the crowd milling about in the distance.

a buzz comes over the area, were adrastea's voice can be heard, serious and level: ] Ship ignored my override passcodes, but backdoor access worked. Barrier permissions have been changed. Lee, Sheba, you can exit when you're ready. Io and Amalthea will be going in to assess what happened.
The barrier will be lowered to allow everyone in once they're done.

[sheba just sort of stares at the pod for a few long moments, tilting her head a bit in the direction that adrastea's voice is coming from. she doesn't immediately react to it other than that.
eventually, her gaze shifts to dahut's pod, and then to luke's.
she bites her lip, then turns to leave.
there is probably some blood on their clothes from carrying scien now that i'm thinking about it. so that'll be fun! maybe she will go get cleaned up. yeah. that sounds like a good idea.
her thoughts and feelings are a jumbled mess right now. peace out, she's going to go sort them out.]
